About this directory

Built from the state's own records.

Oregon Trade Finder is a small, independent directory for Linn and Benton counties, built and run in the Willamette Valley. It exists because finding a contractor here meant choosing between national lead-sellers and word of mouth, and because Oregon publishes exactly the public records needed to do better.

How we verify

01

State records, refreshed daily

Every listing starts as a public record from the Oregon Construction Contractors Board's active-license dataset on data.oregon.gov. No self-submitted listings, no scraping mystery sources, if the state doesn't license them, they're not here.

02

Trade licenses cross-referenced

CCB licenses say someone may contract; they don't say what trade they practice. We cross-reference the Building Codes Division's electrician, plumber, and HVAC business licenses so "Electricians in Corvallis" means actual electricians.

03

Claims verified by phone

When a contractor claims their listing, we call the phone number on their state record, not the one they typed into a form. If the person who answers isn't connected to the business, the claim doesn't go through.

04

Quality enforced quietly

Homeowners tell us privately how each job went. Contractors who stop answering get moved down; contractors who do bad work get removed. We don't run public review piles, the quality statement of this directory is who is still in it.

How the money works

Free for homeowners, always. Contractors pay a flat subscription to see jobs, the same price for everyone. Nobody can pay for placement, ranking, badges, or a louder spot on the page, and contractors you didn't pick never see your contact information. When a directory sells ranking, its search results are ads; ours aren't for sale.

Check our work

Every listing shows its CCB number, and you can verify any of them against the state yourself at search.ccb.state.or.us , or use the instant checker on our homepage. Spot something wrong, a stale license, a misfiled trade? Tell us and we'll fix the record.
